Make your website ready for AI agents
AI assistants now visit websites on behalf of your customers. AgentReady is the open standard that describes what they need from your site. Ben Blum helps your business meet it, one step at a time.
- Free, no obligation
- Plain-language report
- Built on an open, measured standard
Why now
AI agents are becoming first-class visitors
AI agents fetch pages, follow links, read documentation and act on behalf of users. They are becoming a regular kind of visitor to the web.
Most sites were never built for that audience. Sites that agents can't read or use get skipped, and the business never learns it lost the customer.
What is AgentReady
The open standard for the agentic web
A product is AgentReady when AI agents can use it from discovery to completion. Think of it as mobile-ready, but for AI agents.
The standard is written by ora.ai and Vercel, is open source under the MIT licence, and is grounded in measurement: 1,033 real agent runs across 25 public product sites.
The idea in one line
Mobile-ready
Your site works well on a phone for people.
AgentReady
Your site works well for AI agents, from discovery to completion.
The standard in three stages
Find, Read, Act
Each stage builds on the one before. Be reachable, put your answers where agents read, then let agents act.
- 01
Find
Can agents reach you and cite you?
Be reachable and citable. Don't block AI agents or crawlers, and give them one clear, current page to cite.
See the requirements - 02
Read
Can agents read your answers?
Put the answer where agents read. Answers should be in the first HTML a visitor receives, with honest status codes and structured data.
See the requirements - 03
Act
Can agents act for your customers?
Let agents act, not just read. Offer at least one interface agents can use to complete a task, such as a booking, an order or an inquiry.

Key findings
What the measurements show
Results from real agent runs in June to August 2026 explain where agents succeed, and where they give up.
2 changes
Only two changes made agents fail outright: hiding answers behind JavaScript, and blocking agent access.
2.1x
Sites that were not agent-ready blocked agents 2.1 times as often.
82%
of agent answers traced back to a page the agent fetched. A docs page was the source 47% of the time.
92%
The homepage was the agent's first step in 92% of runs where it was reached.
60% vs 37%
Pricing answers built from the business's own pages were accurate 60% of the time, against 37% from elsewhere.
96%
When agents specified a format, they chose markdown 96% of the time.
Based on 1,033 real agent runs across 25 public product sites (June to August 2026), plus a controlled fetchability experiment: one site under 19 configurations, 190 probes.
How we work
Four steps from report to ready
You start with a free report and only spend more time once you know what matters most.
- Step 1
Free AgentReady report
We scan your site against the Find, Read and Act requirements and show what passes and what's missing.
You receive a short, plain-language report. It lists each requirement, marks it as passing or missing, and points out the MUST items first. There is no obligation to continue.
- Step 2
Onboarding call
We walk through the report together and agree on priorities, starting with the MUSTs.
On a short call we go through what the report found and what it means for your business. Together we agree which fixes come first, so the work follows your priorities.
- Step 3
Guided upgrade
We guide you or your developer through the fixes, one at a time.
Fixes can include robots.txt and bot protection, answers rendered in the HTML, structured data, an llms.txt file, a clear pricing page, and an MCP server or CLI where it makes sense. We explain each change before it is made, so you or your developer can apply it with confidence.
- Step 4
Re-check and stay current
We re-scan your site, confirm the result, and keep you up to date as the standard evolves.
Once the upgrades are in place, we run the scan again and confirm where your site now stands. Because the standard is still evolving, we keep an eye on changes and tell you when something new matters for your business.
You stay in control
Being AgentReady is not giving up control
AgentReady means agents can reach and read your public content. It does not mean they can take anything they like.
Decide what's off-limits
Block only low-value or private paths, such as admin areas, carts or internal pages. Everything public stays open to agents.
Let verified agents through
Keep bot protection on, and allow the agents you trust to pass through it.
Throttle politely
When traffic is heavy, respond with 429 and a Retry-After header, so agents know when to come back instead of failing silently.
Set your AI-usage preferences
Separate who may visit from how content may be used. For example, opt out of AI training while still allowing AI answers and search. [Ben to confirm wording before launch.]
Benefits
What changes for your business
Being AgentReady is useful in practice, not only on paper.
Be found and recommended by AI assistants
When assistants can read and cite your site, they are more likely to recommend your business to the people asking.
Let agents complete actions
Bookings, orders and inquiries can be completed by an agent acting for a customer, not only read about.
Accurate answers about your business and pricing
Clear pages on your own site give agents the facts to answer correctly, including your prices.
Stay in control of access and usage
Decide what is off-limits, let verified agents through, and throttle politely. Being AgentReady does not remove your say.
Based on an open, measured standard
AgentReady is an open standard, written by ora.ai and Vercel and grounded in real agent runs, so the advice is not guesswork.
Hands-on guidance, not just a report
You get a report, a call to agree priorities, and help making the changes. We stay with you through the upgrade and the re-check.

Questions
Common questions
The short answers to what owners ask most often. The full list is on the FAQ page.
What is an AI agent?
An AI agent is a program that uses AI to carry out tasks for a person. It can visit websites, follow links, read documentation and, in some cases, act for the user, for example by completing a booking or an order.
Will this let anyone scrape my site?
No. AgentReady is about letting agents reach and read your public content. It does not remove your control. You decide what is off-limits, you can let verified agents through bot protection, and you can throttle with 429 responses. Being AgentReady and being in control are designed to work together.
Do I need a developer?
Not for the free report or the onboarding call. Most upgrades do touch the website itself, such as robots.txt, how pages are rendered and structured data, so in practice you will usually need a developer or someone comfortable editing your site. We guide you or your developer through each step.
